KRC&B Bob Stewart Award

Professor Ronald Loveridge was honored on April 25, 2026, with the Bob Stewart Award, the highest recognition presented by Keep Riverside Clean & Beautiful (KRC&B), during the organization’s Annual Community Recognition Awards Ceremony.

Loveridge founded KRC&B more than 30 years ago while serving on the Riverside City Council (1979–1994). Inspired by a successful community beautification initiative in Orlando, Florida, he helped establish what would become one of Riverside’s most visible and enduring civic engagement organizations.

Since its founding, KRC&B has received numerous national recognitions for its work promoting environmental stewardship, neighborhood beautification, and volunteer-driven public service throughout the city. The organization continues to play a major role in Riverside’s civic life, recently drawing more than 800 volunteers to participate in a citywide cleanup effort.

Reflecting on the organization’s legacy, Loveridge described KRC&B as “a signature statement of social capital in the City of Riverside,” highlighting the importance of sustained community participation and local collective action.

The Department of Political Science congratulates Professor Loveridge on this well-deserved recognition and celebrates his longstanding contributions to public service, civic leadership, and the Riverside community.
