  • Prepare an appellate brief (following US Supreme Court rules).
  • Argue a case before local judges.

The course will be taught to 20 students during the Spring 2025 quarter.

What is POSC 196B?

This course is UCR's Moot Court team competing against other colleges and universities across the state and the country. The competition is sponsored by the American Moot Court Association ("AMCA").

This year, our students competed in tournaments at USC, Fresno State, and San Francisco State University. By taking taking POSC 196A, you could qualify to be a part of our 2025 team.

This course is restricted to 16 students and will be taught during the Fall 2025 quarter.
