Associate Professor Nick Weller of UCR's Department of Political Science and collaborators at University of Southern California received a grant from the National Science Foundation titled: Measuring and Improving Traffic Stops: An AI-Powered Approach to Analyzing Bodyworn Camera Footage. The grant will help to fund the Everyday Respect project's development of AI-powered tools for analyzing police-community interactions during traffic stops. The models will be deployed to better  understand interactions between LAPD officers and drivers and potentially improve outcomes.
