Congratulations to Sarah Siddique and Harry Muttram: 2024–2025 Outstanding Teaching Assistants

The Department of Political Science is proud to announce that Sarah Siddique and Harry Muttram have been recognized as Outstanding Teaching Assistants (OTAs) for the 2024–2025 academic year by UC Riverside’s Graduate Division. This honor is awarded to graduate students who demonstrate exceptional dedication to undergraduate instruction and consistently strong teaching performance.

Sarah Siddique is a Ph.D. student specializing in comparative politics and international relations, with a regional focus on South Asia and the Global South. Her research explores themes of conflict and peacebuilding, religious violence, state formation and collapse, and the role of democratic institutions in ensuring accountability. Sarah brings a global and deeply contextualized perspective to the classroom, helping students understand complex political dynamics beyond U.S. borders.

Harry Muttram is a third-year Ph.D. student whose research centers on American politics, political representation, bureaucracy, and policing. His work focuses on bureaucratic delegation and democratic accountability, especially within the context of policing. Harry is a graduate researcher on the Everyday Respect project and a consultant for UCR’s Graduate Quantitative Methods Center. His approach to teaching blends institutional knowledge with behavioral insights, fostering deep engagement with pressing governance issues.

Both Sarah and Harry will be honored at the Excellence in Teaching Awards Ceremony on Monday, May 19th.
