Antoine Yoshinaka

Assistant Professor 2217 Watkins Hall Professor Yoshinaka joins us after his graduate studies at the University of Rochester. He is currently working on a book manuscript entitled "Crossing the Aisle: Party Switching by U.S. Legislators in the Postwar Era." This is the first-ever in-depth study of the causes and consequences of legislative party switching in the United States since WWII. His research and teaching interests include U.S. political parties, public opinion and voting behavior, election laws and voting rights, and the U.S. Congress. Professor Yoshinaka's interests also lie in comparative politics, specifically elections laws, political parties, voting behavior, and Canadian politics. He recently published a book entitled Establishing the Rules of the Game: Election Laws in Democracies. His research has appeared in Legislative Studies Quarterly, Electoral Studies, State and Local Government Review, and the Review of Constitutional Studies.
